RESTAURANT MENU
In 1950 Dr. Otis McKinley bought the approximately 150 acres of land which is now Pine Valley Golf Club (red & blue courses) and used it initially as a Christmas tree farm, selling the beautiful pines down in Fraser at Utica road and 15 Mile where Meijer now stands. He then raised cattle, buffalo, and sheep on the property with the help of his 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls.
In 1965 together with Canadian semi-pro golfer Len Johnson, Dr. McKinley began designing the layout of Pine Valley which took 3 years to build and opened its doors in 1968. Dr McKinley who owned McKinley Airport in Fraser would fly his plane back and forth and land over by Red #3 after he had flown over Pine Valley to ensure all employees were working! Dr. McKinley lived in the house on the driving range.
In 1988 Pine Valley was bought by Jim and Gertrude O’Connell and Tom Paglia who then developed the Gold Course. In the fall of 1999, the current owners purchased the properties and moved the greens of Red #9 and Blue #9 across the river to make for a more challenging golf experience. They modernized the grill room and moved the pro shop to make it more convenient for the golfers. In 2007 the open air pavilion was added and further improvements are on the drawing board to continue to enhance the golf experience at Pine Valley.
